Waco family photographer

Most people book a family session because it has been too long. The last real photo of everyone together is three years old, or it is a phone snapshot with someone half out of frame, or it does not exist at all.

I am Breanne Johnson, a family photographer in Waco, Texas. I make photographs your family will still be reminiscing years from now.

Make your memories forever

Here is what I have learned after years of this work. The image that matters most is almost never the one anyone expects.

It is rarely the posed frame where everyone is looking at the camera, though we will take that one and your mother will love it. It is the one where your youngest is laughing at something off camera. It is your husband's hand on your shoulder. It is the way your daughter still fit on your hip that year.

You do not know which photograph will become the one until years later, when you find yourself opening that gallery again for no particular reason at all.

That is what I am actually making. Not a set of files. A record you will keep returning to, long after the outfits look dated and the kids have grown out of every single thing they were wearing.

What a Session Is Actually Like

Relaxed. Guided, but not stiff.

I will put you where the light is good and give you something to do, and then I will mostly get out of the way. Kids are allowed to be kids. Nobody has to hold a smile. If your toddler needs ten minutes and a snack, we take ten minutes and a snack.

Most families tell me afterward that it was easier than they were bracing for.

You will receive your gallery within two to three weeks, delivered online so it is simple to share with family and easy to find again years from now. You will get a print release, and you can order prints directly through your gallery if you want them shipped to your door.

Wedding

Photography

The man is wearing a black cowboy hat, a black blazer with a white shirt, and jeans, with a white rose boutonniere. The woman is in a white off-the-shoulder dress with pearl jewelry and a hair accessory. They are smiling at each other and holding hands.

I photograph weddings across Waco and Central Texas, and I have been doing it long enough to know the day moves faster than anyone expects. My job is to keep up with it without getting in the way.

What you get from me is the whole day, not just the portrait list. The first look. Your dad's face during the toast. Your grandmother finally sitting down after being on her feet all evening. The ten minutes at the end of the night when the two of you stop and realize it actually happened. Those are the frames couples tell me they return to most, and they are almost never the ones anyone planned for.

We will do the formal portraits, and we will do them well, because you want them and your family wants them. The rest of the day I spend paying attention.

I cover full wedding days, intimate ceremonies, elopements, and engagement sessions at venues throughout Waco and the surrounding Central Texas area, and I travel regularly for weddings beyond it. I have photographed at Moon River Ranch, Old Bethany, Gathering Oaks, Ridgewood Country Club, Rusted Chandelier, Tranquilo Ranch, Carleen Bright Arboretum, Triple Mountain Ranch, Sunroom Studio/Moonlight Court, Deerfield Estates, and The Palladium. Wedding collections start at $3,499.

Tell me your date and I will let you know if it is still open.

Memories you’ll hold on to

Your pet is family, and a professional pet photography session in Waco captures the personality behind the fur. From senior dogs with gray around the muzzle to kittens who have never once sat still, unhurried sessions let animals settle into their own rhythm. The result is a real expression, the one you see every day at home and wish you could hold onto.

Natural Light Pet Portraits That Feel Like Home

Natural light does the heavy lifting in every pet portrait session, bringing out the texture in a coat and the warmth in a pair of eyes without a startling flash. A calm indoor studio works beautifully for smaller animals and nervous rescues, while shaded outdoor spaces give high energy dogs room to run. Comfortable surroundings mean your pet can be fully themselves in front of the camera.

Book a Pet Portrait Session with Your Whole Family

The best pet photography sessions come prepared with favorite treats, a squeaky toy, and a familiar blanket to earn attention when focus drifts. Including the people who love them matters too, because a hand resting on a back tells a story a solo portrait cannot. These are the images families hold onto for years, long after the leash is hung up for the last time.

  • Breanne is an incredible human being! We had an absolutely amazing experience with her! From start to finish, the entire session was relaxed, enjoyable, and professional. She has an amazing ability to make everyone feel comfortable, especially our youngest with Down syndrome, which allowed each of our family’s personalities to shine through naturally. When we received our photos, we were blown away. Every image was beautifully, composed, full of genuine, emotion, and captured moments will treasure for a lifetime. It’s clear that Breanne is not only talented behind the camera, but also truly passionate about serving families well. If you’re looking for a photographer, who is creative, kind, patient, and delivers stunning results, I can’t recommend them highly enough. We are beyond grateful for these beautiful memories and will definitely be returning for future family photos!

  • Breanne took photos of my 17 year old daughter this afternoon and her care and attention was so genuine. If my daughter's hair was out of place, she made sure to quickly adjust before taking the photo. My child wears glasses, and she was careful with taking shots that might cast a glare. Y'all, it is the little things that matter. Lastly, Breanne has a great ability to make everyone feel comfortable and at ease. I really appreciate her and her talent. Highly recommend and hope to get some family shots in the near future.

  • Y’all… Bre is hands down the best photographer I’ve ever worked with. She’s captured pregnancy photos and family shoots for my wife and me, and every time the results blow us away. The best part? She knows exactly what to do and say to make you laugh naturally so she can capture the moment. She even picked the scenery and it turned out perfect. Tell me these pics aren’t worth EVERYTHING!!!
